Why We Are Collecting Information About Animal Shelters in Latvia

Whiskerhood was created with a simple but meaningful goal - to help animals in Latvia not only through words, but through real actions.

We see that many people want to support animal shelters, yet often face the same problem: information is scattered, incomplete, or difficult to find. It is not always clear which shelter to support, how to donate safely, or whether the information is up to date.

That is why we have started a project to gather information about animal shelters in Latvia in one place, making it easier for people to donate directly to shelters - without intermediaries.

Direct and Transparent Support

On the Whiskerhood website, we are creating a dedicated section where visitors can find:

• donation details provided directly by the shelters,

• information the shelters consider important for donors,

• images from the shelters to help people better understand who they are supporting.

Our goal is not to manage or redirect donations, but to act as a bridge between people who want to help and shelters that need support.

Why This Matters to Us

From the very beginning, Whiskerhood has been built on care for animals. We donate 5% of our profits to animal shelters in Latvia, but we also understand that financial contributions alone are not always enough.

This project is another step toward:

• making support more accessible,

• increasing transparency,

• building trust between donors and shelters.

We believe that even small acts of support, when made simple and honest, can lead to meaningful change.
